September ringing

University students should be returning for Martinmas Semester on the weekend of Saturday 17th September. The first chapel service on Sunday 18th September is normally informal (i.e. no pomp and ceremony such as procession), but the bells are still rung as usual. Ringing starts at 10:30am and finishes at 11am.

Normal regular Sunday ringing for formal services starts on Sunday 25th September at 10:30am and then every week up to and including Sunday 11th December. The only exceptions will be Remembrance Sunday (Sunday 13th November) for which special arrangements will apply, and also one week may be a quarter peal attempt.

Tuesday practices recommence at 7pm on Tuesday 20th September, repeating every week up to and including Tuesday 13th December. As usual, basic ringing and bell handling from 7pm and (more) advanced ringing from 8pm. All practice finishes at 9pm with a trip to the pub (for those who are thirsty). There may be no practice on Tuesday 8th November due to Reading Week.
