List of old Bell-Ringers

Before 2010, the two bells in St Salvator's tower were rung from the "choir room" behind the organ. On the lovely oak-panneled walls of this room, are two old wooden boards which list the "Bell-Ringers" of the University. The list starts in 1945 when the two ancient bells of the University, both cracked and unusable, were smashed up, melted and re-cast by Taylors of Loughborough.

The bells were augmented to 6 in 2010, and the new ringing chamber is one level higher in the tower. There is a third board on the wall of the Choir room, for 2009 onwards, but it needs updating!

Who was the bell-ringger in 2000-1?
